It’s the most wonderful(ly busy) time of the year! Today’s newsletter includes info about our upcoming all-new Infant Feeding Course , our growing team & you can win a Milton Monster… but first! Need a moment to zone out? Here are some feeding-related dopamine hits for you while you avoid those outstanding reports and notes:
These very cute food fidgets from Kmart
Niche but oddly-relevant t-shirt for your therapy sessions
This comprehensive free review about motor learning and neuroplasticity for oral motor skill development (not an instant dopamine hit but you’ll feel amazing when you know you’re doing your best clinical work)
A podcast episode for your little clients about why they like some foods and not others featuring Jennifer Anderson from Kids Eat in Color
This one will get stuck in your head, sorry not sorry!!
As always we’ve been flat chat with clients, and have welcomed another Dietitian to our team. Alison Climie-Holmes has joined our team and we couldn’t be more delighted. Alison has over 30 years of clinical experience, with special interests in; supporting children with disabilities, infant and toddler feeding, ARFID, enteral feeding, neonates, NDA support for neurodivergent children, and so much more. She also has loads of experience working with people with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, PCOS and eating disorders. We are so lucky to have her join us, yay!!
Keep an eye out in the coming weeks for ticket sales to our incredible multi-disciplinary INFANT FEEDING COURSE. We are SO excited about this course. The line up of presenters includes a doctor, a professor, a research fellow and allied health clinicians, and will cover everything you need to know as an allied health professional working with infant feeding in a community setting. The online course will be launching on 5th February 2024 and spots will be limited. We cannot wait to share more about this practical, content-packed course! It will focus on not just assessing and identifying the challenges, but what to actually do to support these babies and their families. It’s the first of it’s kind in Australia and we. can’t. wait!
And you may have noticed that our newsletter looks a little different from usual – we’ve officially moved over to Substack with a cute name and are really looking forward to sharing more in the new year about our special members-only access to resources, product recommendations, case studies, article reviews and more! Our free newsletters will continue of course, because we love to connect with all of you and this platform means we can all connect together and chat (and have virtual snacks), woohoo! Leave us a comment below to say hi and we will pick someone at random to receive their very own Milton the Mealtime Companion :)
We hope the rest of your year is as smooth as a Pauls’ double-thick vanilla custard,
Happy snacking,
The Next Bite team
We have three Miltons in our clinic lol but love the sound of this infant feeding course!
I am excited to be getting these emails and can't wait to hear more about this course that you're developing! Is it only open to Australia residents, or can people from other countries join as well?
